Gantry Fiber Laser Marking Machine | XYYZ Moving Galvo for Large Format Engraving
Large-format Fiber laser marking and engraving for oversized metal plates, stainless steel sheets, industrial components, rulers, selected plastics and ceramic applications.
HITEC Laser’s Large Format Gantry Moving Galvo Fiber Laser Marking Machine combines high-speed galvo scanning with motorized gantry movement to process workpieces that are larger than the practical optical field of a conventional fixed galvo laser.
Instead of relying on a large optical lens alone, the system uses the galvo scanner for fast laser processing and the gantry system for large-area positioning.
This architecture is designed for manufacturers that need to mark or engrave large metal plates, stainless steel panels, elevator panels, industrial components, signs, rulers and other oversized workpieces.
Standard HITEC Laser working areas include 600 × 600 mm, 600 × 900 mm, 1300 × 900 mm, 1200 × 1200 mm and 1300 × 2500 mm, with customized configurations available for specific workpieces and production requirements.
Large Format Laser Marking with Gantry + Galvo Technology
A conventional fiber laser marking machine uses a galvo scanner to move the laser beam across a fixed optical field.
This configuration is extremely effective for small and medium-sized parts.
However, when the workpiece becomes substantially larger than the available lens field, the manufacturer may need to reposition the workpiece or divide the graphic into multiple processing areas.
HITEC’s large-format system takes a different approach.
Galvo Scanning
The galvo scanner provides:
• High-speed laser beam movement
• Fine graphic processing
• Fast text marking
• QR codes and barcodes
• Logos and patterns
• Detailed surface engraving
Gantry Movement
The motorized gantry moves the laser processing head across the larger workpiece.
This provides:
• Large physical working coverage
• Flexible positioning
• Large-format workpiece processing
• Batch production capability
• Adjustable processing positions
• The Combination
Galvo = high-speed optical scanning
Gantry = large-area mechanical movement
The result is a large-format laser marking platform designed for applications where a conventional fixed galvo field is not large enough.
What Is a Large Format Gantry Moving Galvo Laser?
A gantry moving galvo laser combines two different motion systems in one laser processing machine.
The galvo scanner controls the laser beam at high speed within its optical field.
The mechanical gantry physically moves the laser head to another position when the application requires a larger processing area.
This makes the system fundamentally different from simply installing a larger F-theta lens on a conventional fiber laser marker.
The machine is therefore suitable for applications where large physical workpieces are more important than simply maximizing the optical field.

How to Choose the Right Large Format Laser Engraver?
Before selecting a machine, determine these six points.
- Maximum Workpiece Size
Measure the largest actual workpiece rather than selecting the machine according to the average part size.
- Material
Identify the actual material and surface treatment.
“Stainless steel,” “plastic” or “ceramic” alone may not provide enough information for laser selection.
- Marking or Engraving
A surface marking application may require significantly less power than deep engraving.
- Required Result
Determine whether you need:
• Black marking
• White marking
• High contrast
• Decorative marking
• Surface engraving
• Deep engraving
• QR codes
• Barcodes
• Logos
- Required Depth
If material removal is required, specify the target engraving depth.
- Production Volume
A large table may be valuable because multiple parts can be arranged and processed in one setup.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a large format laser marking machine?
A large format laser marking machine combines a galvo scanning head with a motorized XY gantry to extend the effective marking area beyond a standard fixed optical field, allowing it to process oversized metal plates and components.
What does "gantry moving galvo" mean?
The galvo scanner moves the laser beam rapidly for marking, while the gantry physically moves the laser head across the larger workpiece.
Can the large format laser marking machine color engraving
Yes, HITEC Laser large format mopa fiber laser marking machine can color laser engraving
Can the HITEC Laser 6090 mark elevator panels?
Yes. The large table can be used to arrange multiple smaller plates, such as nameplates, in a single setup for efficient batch marking.
Can a 6090 laser mark multiple metal plates at once?
Yes. The large table can be used to arrange multiple smaller plates, such as nameplates, in a single setup for efficient batch marking.
Can a fiber laser engrave stainless steel deeply?
Yes. Higher-power fiber laser configurations, such as 100W, 200W, 300W or 500W, can be selected for deep engraving on stainless steel, aluminum, brass and other metals.
Does a large format laser require stitching?
Because the gantry physically moves the marking head across the workpiece, a large format system is designed to reduce the repositioning and stitching typically required by a fixed-field galvo marker on oversized parts.
What working area should I choose for large metal plates?
The right working area depends on your largest workpiece dimension and whether you plan to batch multiple smaller plates in one setup. Available sizes include 600×600 mm, 600×900 mm, 1300×900 mm, 1200×1200 mm and 1300×2500 mm.
Is a 100W, 200W or 300W fiber laser better for deep engraving?
Required depth, material and cycle time determine the appropriate power level. A sample test provides a more reliable basis for selecting power than wattage alone.
Can the working area be customized?
Yes. In addition to standard working areas, custom configurations are available for specific workpiece dimensions.
