Do you need to laser mark a large metal plate that will not fit a conventional galvo marker?

The HITEC HTJ-6090 Pro is a large format fiber laser marking machine designed for oversized metal plates, stainless steel sheets, elevator panels, industrial nameplates and large components.

Instead of relying on a small fixed galvo marking field, the system combines a high-speed galvo scanning head with a motorized XY gantry to extend the processing area.

Available working areas include 2′ × 2′ (24″ × 24″, 600 × 600 mm), 2′ × 3′ (24″ × 36″, 600 × 900 mm), 4.3′ × 3′ (51″ × 35″, 1300 × 900 mm), 4′ × 4′ (47″ × 47″, 1200 × 1200 mm), 4.3′ × 8.2′ (51″ × 98″, 1300 × 2500 mm), with custom configurations available for specific workpieces.

The Limitation

When a Standard Galvo Laser Is Too Small

A conventional fiber laser marker may provide excellent speed and precision, but its optical marking field is limited by the field lens.

For small components, this is rarely a problem.

For large metal plates, however, manufacturers may face:

❎ Limited effective marking area

❎ Repositioning of large workpieces

❎ Multiple marking fields

❎ Stitching and alignment concerns

❎ Additional setup time

❎ Difficulty processing oversized panels

The HTJ-6090 Pro was developed for exactly this type of application. The workpiece remains positioned on the machine table while the laser system moves across the required processing area — extending the effective marking field well beyond what a fixed galvo lens can cover.

Applications

Built for Large Metal Marking Applications

01
Stainless Steel

Large Format Laser Marking for Stainless Steel

Suitable for large stainless steel sheets and fabricated metal components.

02
Elevator Panels

Elevator Panel Laser Marking

Large stainless steel elevator panels often exceed the practical marking area of a conventional desktop fiber laser. The HTJ-6090 platform provides a large mechanical working envelope built for this exact application.

03
Nameplates

Laser Marking Machine for Large Metal Nameplates

For industrial equipment manufacturers producing equipment nameplates, asset plates, specification plates, serial number plates, QR code plates and brand logos — the large table can also be used to arrange multiple smaller plates in one setup.

04
Industrial Components

Laser Marking for Large Industrial Parts

Mark permanent identification, serial numbers, logos and traceability codes directly onto metal surfaces used in metal fabrication, machinery manufacturing, automotive, industrial equipment, tooling and electrical equipment.

05
Deep Engraving

Large Format Deep Metal Engraving

For customers who require more than surface marking, higher-power fiber laser configurations can be selected for deep engraving on stainless steel, aluminum, brass and other metals.

A galvo laser is not automatically inferior. For small parts, it can be the better choice. The advantage of a gantry system appears when the workpiece itself becomes larger than the practical optical marking field.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

A large format laser marking machine combines a galvo scanning head with a motorized XY gantry to extend the effective marking area beyond a standard fixed optical field, allowing it to process oversized metal plates and components.

Yes. A large format fiber laser marking machine with an XY gantry can mark large stainless steel sheets, including sizes that exceed a conventional desktop marker’s field.

A galvo laser marker processes within a fixed optical field defined by its lens. A gantry laser marking machine adds motorized XY movement so the marking head can travel across a much larger working area.

Yes. The large table can be used to arrange multiple smaller plates, such as nameplates, in a single setup for efficient batch marking.

Yes. The large table can be used to arrange multiple smaller plates, such as nameplates, in a single setup for efficient batch marking.

Standard working areas range from 600×600 mm up to 1300×2500 mm, with custom configurations available for specific workpieces.

Yes. Higher-power fiber laser configurations, such as 100W, 200W, 300W or 500W, can be selected for deep engraving on stainless steel, aluminum, brass and other metals.

Because the gantry physically moves the marking head across the workpiece, a large format system is designed to reduce the repositioning and stitching typically required by a fixed-field galvo marker on oversized parts.

The right working area depends on your largest workpiece dimension and whether you plan to batch multiple smaller plates in one setup. Available sizes include 600×600 mm, 600×900 mm, 1300×900 mm, 1200×1200 mm and 1300×2500 mm.

Required depth, material and cycle time determine the appropriate power level. A sample test provides a more reliable basis for selecting power than wattage alone.

Yes. In addition to standard working areas, custom configurations are available for specific workpiece dimensions.
